Characters

Most of my novels and short stories have the same characters all the way. The stories are parallel; they take place within the same area of a city, taking place at the same time, involving the same characters but each series focus on a specific couple.

The characters of my English novels are:

#1 – By the Lake: main characters Martin and Kira. Extra characters: Kira’s dad, David, Martin’s parents, Martin’s brother and his family.

Lars’ twin boys: Nicky and Ryan, 2 years old
A baby girl on the way

Martin is a trained paramedic but hasn’t been able to go back to work because he now has a criminal record.
He is suffering from PTSD and is in therapy and on long-term sick-leave.
During the story, Martin starts working for his brother who needs more employees in his company.
He fishes a lot, and a lot of his catches, he smokes in his smoking oven and his brother sells it on the market on Saturdays.
He likes to cut little figurines out of wood, which his brother also takes to the market.

Lars lives with his family on the farm he and his siblings grew up on. He has two companies he owns and manages.
A garden landscaping company with six employees and he owns a plantation where he grows the fruits and vegetables of the seasons and sells to supermarkets locally, the farmshop on the farm, and on the market on Saturdays. On the market, he also sells the smoked fishes Martin makes, and the little wooden figurines Martin cuts with his knife.

David’s friend, Michael

David is a kindergarten teacher and school counsellor and at the beginning of the story, he still works at his old school, but after the summer break, he starts working at the nearby private school, where his daughter is also enrolled for her last two years. 

Kira is 16 when the story starts, has had a rough year with a lot of absence and problems, so it has been decided that she repeats year 9 at the new school after the summer break, so she has joined the last few weeks of 8th grade at the nearby private school, where her dad starts working after the summer break.

#2 – Sensations: Main characters are David, 18, Louise, 30, and six-year-old Kira. Extra characters are David’s friend, Michael, 24.

David is 20 years old, bisexual, teachers aid in Kindergarten school at a private school. 
when the story begins, the school’s summer holidays have just started. He lives on his 36 feet sailboat, named Sensations, almost all year round, only has a one-bedroom apartment where he lives during winter. 
He is single but has a friend and lover, Mike, he sees from time to time.
Meanwhile, he is secretly in love with one of the mothers of the kids in the class he said goodbye to when the school year ended. She is 12 years older than he is, and the question is if he can convince her they would make a good couple?

Louise is a single mother to six-years-old Stina. Stina is the result of a beautiful vacation-flirt seven years earlier and Louise has been alone with her all the years. She is an editor at a publishing agency and deals primarily with children and youth litterature.
